    The National Children's Alliance has announced that the application process is open for the 2013 grant cycle.  Included in this RFP are State Chapter Grants which the Michigan Chapter of the National Children's Alliance will be applying for and this will include the sub-grants to Michigan CAC's that are awarded by the Michigan Chapter.  The Michigan Chapter will publish an RFP for the Michigan CAC sub-grants after the Chapter Grant is approved.  The NCA grant process also includes the following grant types:

    • CAC Program Improvement
    • Program Development-Satellite Centers
    • CAC Response to Commercially Exploited Children

    The deadline for the NCA grant application process is March 15, 2013 and you may click here to go to the National Children's Alliance web site for additional information.

    The Children’s Assessment Center in Berrien County Michigan is seeking a full-time forensic interviewer. Located near beautiful Lake Michigan in St. Joseph, our NCA-accredited CAC serves 600 children annually. This full time position will be available beginning February 1, 2013.

    The CAC Forensic Interviewer will be responsible for conducting legally sound and developmentally appropriate interviews of alleged victims of child abuse within the multidisciplinary team structure.

    Qualifications

    A minimum of a masters’ degree in social work, criminal justice, or psychology is required. The CAC Forensic Interviewer must have demonstrated professional experience with children and a demonstrated knowledge of child abuse and neglect issues and child development. This individual must possess the ability to communicate with a wide range of children from different cultural backgrounds and with differing levels of development.

    The Kids-TALK Children's Advocacy Center has openings for two (2) office-based trauma-focused therapists and one (1) home-based/hybrid trauma-focused therapist.  All of the positions are full-time.  The candidates must possess and retain a current full license in the State of Michigan in Psychology, Social work, or Counseling, a Master’s degree in a related behavioral health field from an accredited program and a Psychologist (TLLP, LLP, or LP) Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Limited Licensed Master's Social Worker (LLMSW) supervised by a licensed Master's Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Limited Licensed Professional Counselor (LLPC).  The candidates must also meet Michigan Department of Community Health requirements for a Child Mental Health Professional (CMHP).  One year of experience in the examination, evaluation and treatment of minors and their families preferred.  Please refer to http://www.guidance-center.org/  and the "career opportunities" tab for further information regarding the positions and hiring process.

    Safe & Sound Child Advocacy Center is seeking a Case Coordinator with strong therapeutic skills and training and a commitment to child abuse prevention. This position is a full time forty-hour per week commitment. It is governed by Victim of Crime Act requirements. The Case Coordinator will work with the non-offending caregiver to provide information, support and advocacy during and following the forensic interview. The Case Coordinator will coordinate the monthly Case Review meetings of the Multi-disciplinary team.     The Child Abuse Prevention Council of Shiawassee County, located in Owosso, MI is recruiting three dynamic staff members for our critical child advocacy organization. Please see brief details below with links to the full position postings.  The Child Abuse Prevention Council of Shiawassee County assists children who are experiencing physical and sexual abuse and their families by providing a safe place for forensic interviews, counseling and other support services.  The organization operates the Child Advocacy Center, the Baby Pantry and the Small Talk Children’s Assessment Center in Ingham County.
